Several years ago I took part in a magazine for illustration called Der Aufstrich in which numerous artists designed a double page related to a specific topic.
The topic of the 3rd issue of the magazine was „Dorf“ which means village in English. You got to know that I am a real Berliner but I have a strong connection to Bavaria. This is because my grandparents built a house there when there was still the wall and therefore limited space in the city of West-Berlin to build houses. And in this little house in this little village called Kemnathen I spent most of my hollidays when I was a kid. This is why I know the village life in Bavaria quite well or you could also say that I am in a way an expert for Bavarian culture. I can even speak and understand the Bavarian dialect…
Der Aufstrich was also a satirical magazine or at least the main topics had some kind of critical connotation regarding society, human behavior and other things related to the failure of human kind. And you got to know that life in Bavaria holds a lot of those things if you look deeper…
The culture of drinking and beer, the role of religion, the omnipresent piety and political conservatism, the hypocrisy and falsehood of the people, egoism, capitalism, simple mindedness…
This all gave me enough material to put into this little funny boardgame…
Your Mission:
Win the election and become the mayor of the „Landkreis“. The way to do that: Drink beer with the commoners and win their favour so you get their votes.
But of course there is dangers and many funny things that happen on your way…
